Exploring the use of symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY) of Kombucha, a fermented tea beverage, to produce a vegan bacterial "leather" material.
The SCOBY is growed in a mix of tea, sugar and vinegar and is harvested before being dried and treated. The resulting product obtained is a leather like material.
The resulting bacterial "leather" was then handcrafted into products, below a pen case and a watch strap.
This study inclued a test of an encapsulation of flexible electronic circuit.
